Lightning bolts appear to strike near White House

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Thunderstorms rolled through Washington, D.C., and a photographer captured lightning that looks like it hit very close to the White House. The storm brought several cloud-to-ground lightning strikes along with heavy rain, hail and gusty wind to the nation's capital Sunday night. The photos were shot and posted on the Internet by Eddie Gehman Kohan. He writes that it happened at about 8:30 p.m. EDT.
